We are both disappointed and saddened to report that it does not seem possible for us to produce a show this year.  As you know from our previous communications, St. Catherine’s Church is in the midst of a major renovation.  The ongoing and necessary work is going well and just a few weeks ago we were optimistic that we would have the use of the Church Hall early in 2012, just in time to begin rehearsals.  In fact, we were so positive that we selected a show and began the process of securing the rights.  Unfortunately, in spite of everyone’s best efforts, there remains a significant level of uncertainty about whether the Players will be able to use the facility for the required rehearsal time and, quite possibly, the actual performances.  Based on this reality, the Board of the Players has decided that we simply cannot move ahead with our plans for a production at this time.

There will be a lot of work required in the Church Hall, once the construction is completed, to prepare the facility for future shows.  With this in mind, we hope to be back in touch in the coming months asking those who are interested to join us in these efforts.  Though we know that missing a year is a tremendous let down to all of us, working together to prepare the Hall for an even better future will ensure the continuation of our unique Players’ family.
